No Health Bar: How Knockback Actually Works in Gun Mayhem 2

What the game is counting

Gun Mayhem 2 has no hit points. What it tracks is how hard a fighter has been hit recently, and each new hit pushes them in proportion to that. A fresh fighter shrugs off a pistol round with a small stumble; the same round after a shotgun blast sends them sliding a whole platform. The counter settles back down while a fighter is untouched, which is why a bot that has been left alone for a while is suddenly hard to move again.

Why the edge matters more than the gun

Because the push is what kills, a weak weapon fired at a fighter with no floor behind them does more than a strong one fired at a fighter in the centre of a wide platform. The maps are built around this: Hovering Houses and Ski Lift have small platforms with big gaps, and a match there is over quickly; Castle and Highway have long floors and reward automatic weapons that keep the shoving going. Position first, then shoot.

The three weapon families in practice

Single-shot heavy hitters: snipers, revolvers, most shotguns. One trigger pull, one big push, slow to follow up. Best when the target is already near an edge or already airborne. Automatics: SMGs and assault rifles. Small pushes at a high rate, which keeps a fighter off balance and stops them landing a double jump. Best on wide maps and against Mini AI. Explosives: dynamite, which every fighter always carries, and the launcher-type crate guns. The push is from the blast centre outward, so it works on you as well; used well it is the only way to move a fighter who is standing still in the middle of a platform, because the blast lifts them and the follow-up shot does the rest.

Crates and pickups

Crates fall from the top of the map and hand whoever touches them a random gun with a fixed ammo count; when it runs out you are back on the starting weapon you picked before the match. Pickups are the heart icons and their relatives, temporary effects like extra jumps or speed. Both can be switched off in Custom Game, and turning crates off is the quickest way to make a match about aim rather than luck.
